Dental emergencies are frightening, but the right first response can save a tooth. Keep this guide handy — and remember, for urgent help you can call The Tooth Studio on +91 90321 97737.
For a knocked-out tooth, pick it up by the crown (not the root), gently rinse, and place it back in the socket or in milk, then reach a dentist within an hour. For severe pain or swelling, rinse with warm salt water, take normal pain relief and call the clinic the same day.
Knocked-out tooth
- Hold it by the crown, never the root.
- Rinse gently with milk or saline if dirty — do not scrub.
- Try to reposition it in the socket; if not, store it in milk.
- See a dentist within 60 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
Severe toothache
Rinse with warm salt water, floss gently to remove any trapped food, and take over-the-counter pain relief. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the gum. Persistent or severe pain usually signals infection — book a same-day visit.
Broken or chipped tooth
Save any pieces, rinse your mouth, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Avoid chewing on that side until you are seen.
Swelling or a dental abscess
Facial swelling can be serious. Rinse with salt water and contact the clinic immediately — do not wait for it to pass.
