Waiting months for a new tooth puts many people off implants. Same-day implants change that by providing a temporary tooth on the day of surgery in suitable cases.
Same-day (immediate) dental implants place the implant and a temporary tooth in a single visit, so you do not leave with a gap. The implant still needs a few months to fuse with bone before the final crown is fitted. It suits patients with healthy bone and gums; not everyone qualifies, which is decided after a 3D scan.
How it works
After assessment, the implant is placed and a temporary crown or bridge is attached the same day for appearance and function. The permanent teeth are fitted once healing is complete.
Who qualifies
- Good bone quality and volume to hold the implant firmly.
- Healthy gums free of active infection.
- Non-smokers, or willing to pause smoking, heal better.
